Why women only?

Simple. Female-only groups offer safety and support, fostering candor and openness. Members tell us they can be more authentic when it’s just women in the room. Women often face similar challenges in running a business. Having women only groups of successful business leaders lends itself to sharing critical knowledge, practical experience and the "know-how" of what it takes to be a female at the top.

Who are the members?

The most amazing women you will ever meet. Our members come from a broad spectrum of industries and situations…The common denominator? Tremendous growth, balance, success and a deep desire to learn.

Does my business need to be a certain size to join?

We purposefully do not impose minimum revenue requirements. We personally interview each prospective member and determine which board is the best fit for the member and the group. Most relevant to this process is background, experience, and degree of openness and trust. Besides, you know what is best for your business. You decide how you wish to invest in your company and we work with you to decide which Board is the best fit for you and your business.

Can you give me an example of the type of issues that are addressed during meetings?

The issues are always up to each Board member and cover everything from strategy, operations, sales, marketing, competitive advantage, hiring and employee retention, succession planning, to personal freedom and how to leverage growth.

What is the structure of the meeting?

The meetings have distinct components.

    1. Check-in, where each member has a chance to share recent wins and successes.
    2. Emerging issues, where members seek advice on priority issues.
    3. Member review, where two members per month are given the opportunity to tap into the group’s collective wisdom to refine and revise strategies, define accountabilities, present results and assess performance.
    4. In addition, each Board will have a Quarterly speaker that the Board has requested to present relevant information to assist members even further in growing their businesses.

How many members will each board have?

Each Board has between 8 and 12 members. Best practice tells us that we need to balance the need for broad perspective with adequate time to address each member’s most pressing issues.

With 12 members to a Board, will there ever be time to get my issues addressed?

Each member gets time in front of the Board and can also present any priority issues at the monthly meetings….In addition, because so many businesses face similar issues, you will gain practical advice by learning from issues other members face. We have also created a secure member’s only forum so that you can address critical issues with other Board members online.

How are members for each Board chosen?

We carefully assemble each Board to ensure a safe and confidential environment that provides members with insight, perspective and challenge, available only from a group of like minded peers. Some of the criteria we use are company size; stage in the business growth cycle; non -competing status; and geography.

How often does the Board meet? When? How long?

Each Board will meet once every month in an approximate 4 hour meeting. Our members discuss their real-life business concerns, opportunities and challenges. These complex issues don’t lend themselves to simplistic decisions that can be reached over a breakfast meeting.

Who leads the Board?

While the strength of our program is in the insight and perspective available from member entrepreneurs, each Board is led by one of our highly trained professional facilitators. Your Oppelle Facilitator is a certified executive coach with years of experience in challenging entrepreneurs and leading business success.

What is the cost of membership?

Oppelle is experiential in nature. In order to truly understand the value, you must experience the process. For that reason, we regularly offer free invitational breakfast or lunch meetings where guests can experience the Oppelle process first hand. The cost and benefits of membership are both discussed.
